During the February 26 City Council meeting, Business Administrator George Savastano announced that a “Coffee With Cops” gathering with the Sea Isle City Police Department will take place on Monday, March 4, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Sands Department Store. During this community outreach event, members of the public can speak with our police officers and enjoy light refreshments.

Also during the February 26 meeting, Ordinance 1630 was introduced. This ordinance was written to prohibit the sale, cultivation, manufacturing and testing of medical and non-medical marijuana in Sea Isle City, and will have second reading during the March 26 City Council meeting.

Resolution 035, which introduced Sea Isle City’s 2019 Local Municipal Budget, was approved by City Council on February 26. It is anticipated that Resolution 035 will be adopted on March 26 following its second reading and public hearing.

Each of the Resolutions on the February 26 Consent Agenda was approved, including:

 · Resolution 037, which authorized the use of $5,984 from the Tennis Fee Trust Fund for annual spring maintenance and the opening of our tennis courts at Dealy Field, provided by Evergreen Tennis Services, of Sun City, Florida.

· Resolution 043, which authorized the award of a contract to Delta Line Construction, of Egg Harbor Township, in the amount of $843,300 for the installation of new lighting along the Promenade (Phase One, 35th Street to 44th Street).

Our next City Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 12, at 10:00 a.m. in Council Chambers – we hope to see you there!
