Dear Family/Friends/Neighbors/Co-workers/Local Businesses:

This year the Cape May County NAACP is hosting its 1st Annual NeighborHoodie Drive and we need your help.

Did you know, because of the Covid-19 pandemic, an estimated 40 million Americans are unemployed? Prior to the pandemic, 1 in 8 American households were already living in poverty.

In every corner of the United States, families are struggling — and the need for warmer clothing, combined with increased utility costs, will make the winter months more challenging for those with already-strapped budgets.

This specific drive is geared toward outfitting middle school and high school-aged neighbors, many of whom prefer the style, functionality, and convenience of hoodies to traditional coats and jackets.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Donate hoodies/sweatshirts to our drive! During the month of November a member of our team will be available to pick up new hoodies. All hoodies collected will be donated locally to our neighbors in need. The CMC NAACP’s goal is to collect 300 hoodies to serve our community!
  2. Donate dollars! Every $1 donated will help us get closer to our Hoodie goal- what an incredible impact! You can donate cash or check to our Hoodie drive and help us reach our goal of warming 250 people.

The Cape May County NAACP hopes you will support our Hoodie drive and help us warm our neighbors in need. Thank you for your consideration!

Sincerely,

Vuaneite Tamer-McNeal
