Repairing the dunes is a part of the overall beach replenishment project.

Sea Isle City has issued the following update on the upcoming beach replenishment project:

BEACH CLOSURE: The beach from JFK Boulevard to 40th Street is currently closed to the public while dune reconstruction work takes place. The public is asked to use alternate beaches.

The 57th Street Beach will continue to serve as a staging area, where heavy equipment will be delivered and stored. Periodic and sometimes frequent deliveries of equipment will take place by way of the 57th Street Promenade ramp and dune path — and both will be closed during deliveries and at other times during the beach replenishment project.

The public is asked to use caution on the Promenade near 57th Street and on the 57th Street Beach. Pedestrians and bicyclists are asked to avoid the 57th Street Promenade ramp and use the street ramp at 56th Street when entering and exiting the Promenade (the 56th Street ramp can accommodate bikes and strollers).

The arrival of the dredge has been delayed. The dredge is now scheduled to arrive on June 26.

Thank you for your patience while Sea Isle City’s beaches are being strengthened.
