Sea Isle City is now part of the Nixle system for public alerts.

The entire mid-Atlantic coast is closely watching the track of Tropical Storm Hermine, which will be making its way up the eastern seaboard and arriving in our area Saturday evening. While the track of the storm is uncertain, everyone who will be in Sea Isle City over this Labor Day weekend should be prepared for minor to moderate to even possibly major tidal flooding.

At this time we cannot say with any certainty what the track of the storm will be.  However, now is the time to prepare for severe weather and take the appropriate steps, including moving all outdoor furniture from decks that will be exposed to the wind.  Additionally, elevate any items on your ground level that may be exposed to tidal flooding — including vehicles, which should be moved to higher ground or offshore.

As always, we ask that you refrain from driving through flood waters because the wake your vehicle creates can severely damage fences, garage doors and other property — plus you can severely damage your vehicle.

Please pay close attention to weather reports on social media and on the news to stay ahead of any possible effects that this storm may produce.

In the event of any emergency, please dial 911.
