Most long-time iPhone users know the frustration of a slow, clunky device. Whether apps are sluggish, the phone randomly powers on and off, or the whole system feels outdated, all of this is stressful for the user. While replacing your phone may eventually be necessary, there are ways to keep it running efficiently for longer. Slow performance isn’t always due to age; other factors may be at play. First try speed up the iPhone with the tips below.

How to Make Your iPhone Faster?

1. Reset Your Phone

To fix a slow iPhone, resetting it can be effective. A reset clears the device’s RAM and can resolve glitches. There are two types of resets.

  1. Soft Reset: For iPhone X or later, press the power button and a volume button simultaneously to bring up the reset screen. Slide to “power off” and wait 30 seconds before turning it back on.
  1. Hard Reset: Go to “Settings” > “General” > “Erase All Content & Settings.” This restores your phone to factory settings.

2. Clear Memory on Your Device

If you have little memory left, you need to free it up. You can do it manually or use the app to clean up the iPhone. Today, the best iPhone cleaner app we know is the CleanUp app. You can install it from the App Store and clear your device’s memory from duplicates and temporary files. The main advantage is that you don’t have to sacrifice personal data to increase free memory and it won’t cost you more than 2 minutes of your time.

3. Clear Safari Data

It’s essential to clear your cookies and data occasionally for a faster browsing experience. Note that Safari won’t suggest URLs unless they’re bookmarked, some websites may forget your preferences, and you’ll need to log in again to online accounts. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Safari.
  3. Select Clear History and Website Data.
  4. Choose the timeframe and profiles for which you want to clear data. Decide if you want to close all tabs, then tap Clear History.

4. Turn Off Unnecessary Features

If you’re home or at work and have a strong Wi-Fi signal, using Wi-Fi instead of cellular data will help your iPhone perform better. That said, when you’re out and about, you can improve your iPhone’s performance by turning off unnecessary features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Location Services.

Go to the Settings menu and select the features you want to turn off ― but also, get in the habit of turning the Wi-Fi back on when it’s available.

5. Get Your Apps Tidy

There’s no need to keep apps you don’t use. Deleting unused apps can improve your phone’s efficiency. To remove an app, hold down its icon until it wiggles. For a detailed look at your usage, go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage. Here, you’ll see when you last used each app and how much storage it uses, helping you decide what to delete.

Offloading is another option. It removes the app but keeps its documents and data. This is great if you might use the app later. Just select the app from the list and tap “Offload.”

6. Limit Background Processes

Smartphones, particularly iPhones, often have multiple background processes running simultaneously, draining battery life and slowing down the device. These processes include automatic updates and app refreshes. To improve performance, go to your settings, select the General tab, and then tap on “Background App Refresh.” Here, you can turn off the feature or set it to update only when connected to Wi-Fi. This simple change can greatly enhance your iPhone’s speed and efficiency.

7. Turn Off Low Power Mode

If your iPhone has suddenly started running slower, Low Power Mode might be the reason. This setting, often enabled during long trips or outings, is useful for saving battery but can slow down performance.

To check if your iPhone is in Low Power Mode, look at the battery bar in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. If it’s yellow, Low Power Mode is on. To disable it, go to Settings, click on Battery, and toggle off Low Power Mode.

8. Clear Safari Data

Clearing your Safari data can speed up your iPhone. Note that Safari won’t suggest URLs unless they’re bookmarked, some websites may forget preferences, and you’ll need to log back into online accounts. To clear data:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Safari.
  3. Select Clear History and Website Data.
  4. Choose the timeframe and profiles, decide whether to close all tabs, and tap Clear History.

Conclusion

When you reduce background processes and RAM consumers, you get more resources for the things you want to do on your iPhone. It’s simple math. To get more, you have to give up something. The art is to remove processes that you won’t even notice are missing.
