Landis Avenue between 45th-47th was temporarily closed while safety precautions were taken, so that repairs could be made.

A small electrical fire, believed to have been caused by a blown transformer, was to blame for the closure of the intersection of 46th and Landis Avenue last night.  The fire was put out, but the pole was clearly damaged and caused significant slack in the power lines.

Atlantic Electric was aware of the matter and engaged in resolving it at the time of these pictures.

No further damage to the area was apparent and there were no injuries reported.

The members of the SICPD and SICFD did a great job of keeping the public safe in an instance that could have easily escalated.

The power line pole was clearly damaged and in need of repair or replacement.
