Wednesday evening, the Republican Women of Cape May County met at La Fontana Coast. The highlight of the meeting was when Mayor Len Desiderio presented Heather Baldini with the prestigious Gerard A. Desiderio, Sr. Award for “Sea Isle City Republican of the year” 2017.
Upon receiving it, Baldini said that she was truly honored. “The concept of the award is that Gerard was an exemplary Republican. I met Gerard in 1987 and he is the reason that I joined the organization. His enthusiasm and dedication to the party inspired me to get involved.”
In other related news, the Republican Women of Cape May County reviewed the minutes for their last meeting. That meeting was attended by dignitaries: Jerry Thornton, Gary Schaffer, Rita Fuginiti, Sue Sheppard and Linda Pagliughi.
Their Treasurer’s Report showed $14227.81, at that time. They praised the success of their event at the Flanders and gave thanks to Sue Sheppard for her help.
They discussed how excited that they were that the Lt. Governor attended their event and spoke encouraging words to them.
All in all, it was a fun evening. The dinner was fabulous and the comradery in the room was contagious.
