Vietnam veterans Michael Rodgers, left, and state Assemblyman R. Bruce Land were draped in "Quilts of Valor" to recognize their military service during the 2017 Veterans Day ceremony.

America’s military veterans will be honored during Sea Isle City’s annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at Veterans Park, JFK Boulevard and Landis Avenue.

Led by Mayor Leonard Desiderio, the gathering will feature local veterans, including Commander Charles Haines and other members of Sea Isle’s VFW Post 1963. Local religious leaders, members of City Council and representatives from Cape May County will also take part in the ceremony.

Members of South Jersey Quilts of Valor Group will also be in attendance to present handmade quilts to local veterans to recognize their military service. Additionally, wreaths will be placed at the base of Veterans Park’s Memorial Fountain. A special tribute will be paid to two local World War II veterans who passed away in 2018.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside at the former Sea Isle City Public School building at 4501 Park Road. For additional information, phone (609) 263-4461, ext. 1245.
