Members of the Sea Isle City Police Department and their families were among the volunteers removing trash from the beaches during the spring cleanup last April.

On Saturday, the Sea Isle City Environmental Commission will host its autumn Beach Cleanup and Dune Grass Planting, an event that annually attracts more than 100 volunteers.

From 10 a.m. to noon, individuals, families, businesses and members of local organizations will remove trash and debris from Sea Isle’s beaches and dunes. The volunteers will also plant dune-strengthening grass seedlings along the shoreline.

After the cleanup, volunteers will be treated to a complimentary luncheon at Mike’s Seafood & Dock Restaurant at 4222 Park Road starting at 12:30 p.m. Volunteers will also receive commemorative T-shirts from Approach Clothing Company and coupons for free ice cream cones at Spinners Pizza & Ice Cream Shop.

Registration for the cleanup begins at 10 a.m. at JFK Boulevard and the Promenade.
