Mayor Leonard Desiderio, whose family sponsored the Columbus Day Parade, gives the thumbs-up sign to start the procession.

Mayor Leonard Desiderio and his family will host Sea Isle’s 2017 Columbus Day Parade on Saturday, October 7, at 2:00 p.m.  The parade will begin in front of the Sea Isle City Italian-American Club (located next to the Sea Isle Bridge) and will run east along JFK Boulevard to Landis Avenue and then turn south on Landis to 63rd Street.

The Columbus Day Parade will feature many participants, including Sea Isle’s “2017 Italian Royal Family.”  Spectators will also see representatives from the Knights of Columbus Madonna Maria Council and the Sea Isle City Italian American Club, as well as the Ocean City High School Marching Band, local veterans, scout troops, local businesses and pageant winners.  Municipal and County dignitaries will also be in the parade, as will Sea Isle’s Police, Ambulance and Fire Departments and the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department – including Dodge the Horse, McGruff the Crime Dog and Eddie the Eagle.

When the parade culminates at 63rd Street, the fun will continue at the 2017 Italian Festival, which takes place on October 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on 63rd Street, where festival-goers can enjoy great food, merchandise vendors, live music, free raffles, a Canolli Eating Contest and other entertainment.
