During the October 24 City Council Meeting, Business Administrator George Savastano gave Council an update on the Sea Isle Boulevard Causeway Elevation project, at which time Mr. Savastano noted that even though work on that project had not yet resumed this fall, the project’s contractor will be on site this week.  He also stated that the current traffic lanes leading in and out of Sea Isle City are expected to be moved to the north side of the causeway (the elevated side) by Thanksgiving – and that the entire project is still expected to be complete prior to the summer of 2019.

During the “Council Reports” portion of the October 24 meeting, Council President Tighe announced that Mayor Desiderio had made his annual Halloween Proclamation, in which he declared that Trick-or-Treating will take place in Sea Isle City on Halloween Night, October 31, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.  Council President Tighe also stated that this year’s Halloween Parade on October 20 was very well attended and that the Recreation Office did a fine job organizing it.

Also during “Council Reports,” Councilman Gibson advised Council and the Administration that the residents of Venicean Road are creating a petition requesting the City install speed bumps on their street.

No comments from the public were made regarding the items on the October 24 Consent Agenda, and subsequently each Resolution on the Agenda was approved by City Council.

During the “Pending Business” portion of the October 24 meeting, Council President Tighe reminded everyone that the next City Council meeting will take place on November 14 at 10:00 a.m. in Council Chambers, at which time a discussion will take place regarding specific issues regarding our beaches. Additionally, a Capital Plan Workshop will be held on November 14 at 12 noon in Council Chambers, which will be open to the public.
